The mini-auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 edition is scheduled for December 23 in Kochi. Many top players are likely to be auctioned off at exorbitant prices. Cameron Green is a capable all-rounder who can alter the course of the game with his versatility. He has previous experience playing in Indian conditions and hopes to perform to his full potential.
Green has appeared in eight T20I matches and scored 139 runs, with a best score of 61. With a strike rate of 173.75 and the ability to decimate opposing bowlers, he is a dangerous batter.
1. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings are the IPL’s second most successful team, trailing only the Mumbai Indians. CSK struggled in the previous season due to a lack of penetration with batting and bowling abilities. The team led by MS Dhoni decided to release Dwayne Bravo prior to the IPL auction. With a purse of 20.45 crores remaining and two overseas slots available, Cameron Green could fill in for Bravo and be an ideal asset for CSK to win their fifth IPL title. Moeen Ali is the only all-rounder in the CSK squad. Green could join MS Dhoni’s side in this year’s IPL, making them a much more competent side.
2. Delhi Capitals
Another team interested in acquiring the Australian all-rounder is the Delhi Capitals. Under Pant’s captaincy, the DC franchise was unable to advance to the knockout stage of the IPL 2022. They were missing a true all-rounder. As a result of the trade of Shardul Thakur, Green is a solid all-arounder. The all-rounder has strong power-hitting abilities and can add value with his abilities. With a 19.45 crore purse and two overseas slots remaining for the Delhi Capitals, the management could sign him to seek all-around abilities, as Rovman Powell is a genuine power-hitter in the squad.
3. Punjab Kings
After a promising start to the IPL 2022 season, Punjab Kings were unable to advance to the playoff stage. They made the decision to release West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith prior to the auction. Only Liam Livingstone is a foreign all-rounder, so Cameron Green could be an ideal choice. Shikhar Dhawan and company could slot the hard-hitting Australian all-rounder in the squad with three overseas slots remaining and a purse of 32.2 crores. Since its inception in 2008, PBKS has never won the IPL title. Cameron Green’s all-around abilities can make an impact and help their team win their first IPL title.
